Crane Trucks for Hire

Northfield Engineering, through NF Hire, offers a fleet of crane trucks for hire.

Our core focus is to offer the services of our crane-trucks and their dedicated rigging and moving teams to industry in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro as well as the greater Eastern Cape.

Hydraulic Gantry System

The 800-ton four-post Hydraulic Gantry System is the most powerful piece of equipment in the NF Hire & Contracting (PTY) Ltd stable.

It is the largest gantry system of its kind in the Eastern Cape and can be used in either a 2-post or a 4-post configuration. The Gantry System is

hydraulically self-propelled on its own running tracks and is ideally suited for any manner of heavy lifting assignments. This includes the rigging and moving of

machine presses, large transformers, boilers, locomotives and all types of heavy industry equipment.

It is also the perfect vehicle for the loading and off-loading of break bulk pieces in any of our national ports. The two power-packs which drive the gantry system consist of two

diesel engines. The great advantage of this configuration, vs an electric power-pack, is that the gantry can be operated in remote areas. It goes without saying that it has a

far greater lifting capacity than any normal crane-truck.

Bond the Badger

Bond the Badger is a 15-ton forklift which was manufactured right here in South Africa. The unique feature of this forklift is that

its chassis was shortened and more counterweights added for the specific purpose of making it more compact. This allows better movement and agility

inside a factory where room to manoeuvre is often a challenge.

Bond the Badger is one of very few privately owned forklifts of its size in Nelson Mandela Bay and is available for rental on a short-term contract basis.

Bond the Badger compliments the already existing fleet of forklifts at NF Hire, which also include a 2.5-ton forklift and two 5.5-ton forklifts.
